Acucorp Partners With MoTech

Alliance Strengthens Company's Professional Service Offering
San Diego, CA - November 30, 2001

San Diego, CA - November 30, 2001 - Acucorp, Inc., a world-class provider of application extension solutions designed to solve mission-critical business issues, recently announced its partnership with MoTech, an international software, support and professional service vendor backed by the promoters of India's largest private sector company, Reliance Industries. Through the partnership, which strengthens Acucorp's current product offering by enhancing the company's professional service line, developers can migrate their existing legacy applications to other platforms. Acucorp's extend(tm)5 family of solutions are already available on more than 600 platforms and include such innovative software modernization technologies as Internet deployment, COBOL-based graphical user interface (GUI) development, COBOL access to Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) data, distributed computing and programmer productivity tools.

"Acucorp has always been committed to enhancing the products and services we offer COBOL users," ] says Dr. Pamela Coker, President and CEO of Acucorp. "By partnering with MoTech, we can continue to build long-term relationships with our customers as well as offer them a 'lowest total cost of ownership' approach to software modernization - a unique business philosophy that is also embraced by our newest partner."

Like Acucorp, MoTech has established a global presence, operating offices in India, the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia. In addition, the company has partnered with such industry-leaders as IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and Sun.

"We see this partnership as a win-win situation," explains Annu Tandon, Managing Director of MoTech. "By combining our technology with Acucorp's, legacy developers will be able to quickly and efficiently convert their existing applications - reducing much of the time and costs involved with migrating."

TransMod, one of the methodologies developed by MoTech and a key tool in the new partnership agreement, enables the migration of a legacy application to a new environment by using integrated analysis, syntax and features mapping of source code to target and store precise migration instructions. This source code is ultimately converted to native ACUCOBOL(tm)-GT application source code, thus allowing developers to implement any one of the modernization technologies available through Acucorp's newly released Version 5.2 of extend5.
